The lookout offers visitors a unique lodging experience and panoramic views of the surrounding area. The Perch would be a great base from which to explore the historic Eureka Springs and the surrounding Ozark Mountains. Bald Knob Lookout is perched atop Bald Knob at an elevation of 3,630 feet in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. Although here the use was limited, an affordable and attractive guard rail could be made with just decoratively-sawn boards instead of posts and spindles. Unfortunately it looks like the only access to the deck is the main entry door. You also have the option of a shower in the small bathroom to the left of the tub. If privacy is needed, the tub area can be separated with a curtain that pulls across the room. The entry door leads into the full kitchen on the uphill side. Despite all the windows, daylight entering the cabin is limited by its steep north-facing hillside and the nearby trees. The logs are exposed on the inside and most of the other surfaces are finished with fairly dark wood as well, making for a rustic but somewhat dim interior. The posts are infilled with sections of short logs stacked horizontally above and below the windows, and stood vertically between them. Its main structural support consists of corner posts and several intermediate posts holding up the roof.
